Today was one of these days that could safely be called Spring, with almost unbroken sunshine from morning until late afternoon. This was a day for outdoors and venturing a little beyond Gott Bay Pier and Scarinish Harbour.
Ben Hynish seemed the place for this afternoon and walking up at a leisurely place gave us the opportunity to take in the view, as well as enjoying the sunshine. The sea was bright blue but it was deceiving for Atlantic Rollers were breaking over the rocks and crashing on Balephuil beach. It was spectacular. Being a clear day, and from the summit of the Ben, we could see many neighbouring islands, with the snow on Ben More just visible.
Much as it was good to see this scenery, something in me longed for more! Perhaps a sign of Spring that I would have expected on the Mainland. Last week we had seen some snowdrops in a garden, today it was the turn of those with the yellow trumpets, the daffodils. This completed the feeling of Spring, as a few minutes earlier, at Balevullin, we photographed our first sighting of lambs.
