In Appreciation of the Crew of the Hebridean Isles
It is reported that shortly after noon on Sunday March 16h, a member of the crew of the Hebridean Isles was transferred to the Tobermory Lifeboat from which he was transferred to the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service. The crewman had gone overboard during a routine exercise of the ferry’s fast rescue craft. The Tobermory Coxswain Andrew McHaffie is reported to have said: “The ferry’s master and crew reacted quickly to this incident which could have been much, much worse. All of us at Tobermory RNLI wish the crew member a speedy recovery.” The incident took place in the Sound of Mull, north of Salem, as the vessel was making its way to Tiree.
