Last night, ‘An Talla’, Tiree’s Community Hall was comfortably filled to celebrate the Hall’s Tenth Birthday.
Testimony was given to all the efforts of the Committee responsible for this well designed, and well used Hall.
The eighteen feet long Tapestry has been a three year project with the Group meeting on a weekly basis, together with occasional community workshops. The background of ever changing colour was made of fabric – hand dyed in the workshops.
The twelve panels depict a full day on Tiree, from the morning Postie to the beam of Skerryvore at night.
This product of the Community will now be permanently displayed at the heart of the Community in An Talla’s main hall.
Community is what makes Tiree such a vibrant place to be.
