Tiree: Waiting For A Call

The Crossroad, Heylipol
Catchphrase Tiree Style – As you look at the photograph ‘Just say what you see!’
It was taken in front of the Church Building, at the crossroad, Heylipol and the suggested caption was ‘Waiting For A Call’.
The modern call box at the Pier in Scarinish has gone, however there are still a number of traditional red phone boxes strategically placed around the island. With a weak mobile signal on only two networks and no signal at all on the other networks, the presence of the phone boxes is reassuring.
Before the advent of the mobile phone you would often see a young man or woman standing waiting for a call. The fact this photograph includes the church building is a reminder that the living God says, “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” (Jeremiah 33″3)
Whether or not you are at one of life’s crossroads, the great thing about talking and listening to God is that you don’t need to have a phone in the house, go out to a phone box, or own a mobile phone. What’s more you never get call waiting or  the engaged tone. You should try it!
Experience says that it’s a good idea to have a Bible handy for it’s his living Word – through it God’s voice is heard.
