Tiree High School put on a great show this afternoon. The Gala Cafe served delicious lunches and light snacks. Next to the Cafe was Jo and Jacqui’s Ice Cream Parlour serving home made ice cream with flavours that included ginger and whiskey as well as the more traditional vanilla. Those relaxing in the ‘Market Hall’ were treated to music by local musicians, i.e. talented school pupils, including a banjo band. Local crafts-people demonstrated, displayed and sold a wide range of items.
The School Timetable also included the opportunity to make your own hedgehog, sow your own broach, design your own homemade cookie, or listen to an exciting story. Soak the Staff proved a great hit, especially when the local volunteer fire brigade arrived with their hose! (They took mercy on the victims.)
The penultimate event of the afternoon was billed as ‘The Tiree Totally Unmissable Event of 2014’ – Riverdance. The grace and poise of the performance was unbelievable, as was the encore!
Thanks to all who all who gave and worked so hard for a great afternoon.
