Unlike the previous year, when the bonfire celebration had to be moved forward a day, the 5th of November was characterised by warm sunshine. By evening the calm of the morning had been replaced by a biting, strengthening, southerly wind. With the bonfire lit just after 6.30pm at Crossapol Beach, it was not long before we were being toasted. Soup and burgers, cakes and biscuits were served with a friendly cheery smile. At 7.30pm the fireworks lit the night sky with an electrifying display. Free and open to all the community, this was an evening to remember thanks to the hard work of many – including the An Talla Committee, Tiree Young Farmers and Tiree Disco (Bino & Andy).
