Tiree Remembers

Tiree’s Memorial to the Fallen in two World Wars

At 3:00pm on Saturday the 8th of November, on a sunny but breezy afternoon, members of the community gathered for an act of Remembrance as wreaths were laid at the Memorial close to Pier Road.
The short service was led by the Rev Elspeth Maclean of the Church of Scotland with the Pastor of the Baptist Church encouraging those present to look back with gratitude and forward with hope as he recalled the inscription on the memorial at Kilchoan in Ardnamurchan.
To the glory of him who died for all
And in loving memory of the soldiers
And sailors from this parish
Who died in the first and second world war
