These days, the sun rises increasingly late over Tiree and sets increasingly early. Unusually, for a Thursday, it is calm and bright – quite a contrast indeed! It is a delight to walk, even if the hours of daylight are restricted. A favourite walk takes in the old harbour at Scarinish, the lighthouse, the machair and the pier. When we left home the MV Clansman was already alongside the pier. Looking back from the Post Office and across the machair and Pier View we could see the ferry. Continuing on our walk we could see the Clansman heading out of Gott Bay into the Passage of Tiree, as it made its way towards Coll, then Oban. What a difference blue skies make.
