It is hard to believe that it is almost our second Christmas living on the Island of Tiree, yet the season of Christmas Parties confirms the fact. Tiree has its very own ‘Parties Committee’ who fund raise throughout the year to provide a party at Christmas for the over sixties and at least two children’s parties.
The wind may have been raw, but the atmosphere in An Talla was warm and inviting. For some present, thanks to the kindness and hard work of others, this was the third Christmas meal in as many days. What a meal it was! A traditional dinner cooked to perfection and served with a smile. How they managed to served over 120 with the food arriving at the table so warm. Santa, as you have never experienced him before, paid a most entertaining visit. You would almost think he had been to drama school! After that the floor was cleared and the dancing and party games began. With responsibilities the following day we left before we turned into pumpkins. Sorry to be leaving such a great evening, but appreciative of the thoughtfulness, kindness and hard work of so many.
