Life on Tiree is not all cloudless blue skies. The old year went out with a moderately strong wind. The start to 2015 was wet and windy with leaden skies. Thankfully it dried up after lunch in time for us to head over to West Hynish and Balephuil Beach.
It was encouraging to see folks out surfing and walking – making the most of the day.
Rather sadly, close to Crossapol Bay, we saw a large but dead marine animal being driven by the waves against the rocks. However, our spirits were lifted as we headed down to Balephuil Beach and witnessed the power of the Atlantic breakers crashing on the shore and the nearby rocks.
Even on a dreich day, Balephuil Beach is an amazing place. No wonder it’s our elder son’s favourite place to walk.
