The week began with Tiree being the sunniest place in the UK for two days in a row. On Sunday we had 15.6 hours of sunshine and from then on it has been downhill all the way.
On Thursday the ferry calls at Tiree en route for Barra enabling visitors to take in the Tiree Experience run in conjunction with the Scarinish Hotel and Kennedy Coaches. What a contrast today from the previous Thursday.
One of the highlights for some of our visitors to the island is to witness the ‘Mighty Clansman’ pass through the Gunna Sound on the return journey from Barra to Tiree. This afternoon we took our position at the entrance to the Sound in order to record the vessel’s progress for ourselves before following the coach to the pier. What a contrast – a splash of colour in a grey world.
