Scheduled! Cancelled! Reprieved!

Friday the 10th of July 2015 saw ‘the Sailing that almost was not’ due to the threatened action by the RMT. In spite of the early morning ferry being cancelled and then reprieved it was well loaded.

The morning dawned grey, misty, cold and damp, more reminiscent of winter than summer – a fact witnessed to by the coats, hats and gloves in evidence on the pier.

 With the threat of industrial action temporarily suspended while talks continue, West Coast ferry services are operating normally, which must be a relief to next weekend’s Tiree Music Festival.
