Tiree Music Festival commences on Friday evening. The Big Top is erected. The Community village is taking shape. The Family Campsite is fast filling up. The island population is growing and growing. Today’s ferry was late in arriving and an hour late in departing for Barra. Little, wonder, it was nearly full to capacity with almost 600 passengers on board. Even after all the vehicles had disembarked, it seemed as if the stream of passengers coming down the gangway would never end. Bus load after bus load were ferried from the pier to the festival site close to an An Talla (Crossapol).
The sun shone and many were remembering to apply sunblock. Let’s hope they have made provision for the storm that is due to hit the island in the next 24 hours.
