For those with onward journeys from the Ferry Terminal at Oban, the Wednesday and Friday sailings are ideal. For those travelling to Tiree both of these sailings require vehicles to be at the port no later than 5:00am – designed especially for early risers. The ferry is then timetabled to leave Tiree at 9:20am and with a call at Coll it has an arrival time in Oban of 1:00pm. Once more we were down at the pier to say “God Be With You” (Goodbye) to friends setting out for the Mainland and with long journeys ahead of them.
It was a beautiful Autumn morning, with only a hint of a breeze, calm seas and the dark clouds that had brought overnight rain were passing and the sun was dancing on the water. So the Mighty Clansman made its way majestically out into the Passage of Tiree, resplendent in the sun.
