Already there is an AMBER Alert for Saturday’s crossing from Oban to Coll and Tiree. CalMac advise that due to the adverse weather forecast the service between Oban – Coll/Tiree is liable to disruption. It is likely there will only be one stop at Coll. With the winds predicted to rise and be above 50mph the Sunday sailing must also be doubtful.

The forecast wind speeds change from hour by hour, but it seems certain that we are in for a stormy weekend. However, the wild weather did not stop the Award Winning Tiree Music Festival in July and I doubt it will stop this evening’s TMF Community Night at the Lodge Hotel with live music from Robert & Ross from Skipinnsh. Already the duo attended Tiree High School who kindly sheltered 150 campers during this summer’s evacuation. As a thank you from TMF Robert & Ross Skipinnish sang a few songs to the entire school. It’s fair to say “Walking on the Waves” was the favourite.

The weekend continues with the Christmas Craft Fayre
at An Talla on Saturday (12:00noon till 3:00pm).
Life on Tiree understands that Santa will be in his lovely new grotto.

Although not the official opening
the Baptist Church will be meeting for the first time
on Sunday 29th at 11:00am
in their newly refurbished premises at Baugh.

Have a great weekend!
