This afternoon CalMac’s Plan came together – just! – The MV Lord of the Isles battled to berth at Tiree’s pier in the midst of a hail storm. Awaiting repairs in the New Year, the ferry’s propulsion problems were evident, especially when having to deal with the high wind. However, eventually she berthed to the relief of those on board who were desperate to disembark on this the last sailing before Christmas.
As the MV Lord of the Isles headed to sea, bound for Coll and then Lochboisdale, the MV Clansman appeared in the Passage of Tiree.
This morning the Clansman set out for Lochboisdale (Uist), before calling at Castlebay, Leaving Tiree, she was calling at Coll before sailing to Oban where she will berth for Christmas. In contrast with LOTI the Clansman had no problems berthing – although to be fair conditions had improved somewhat.
Now to watch out for Santa!
He visits Tiree too!
