All right!
It’s not New Year’s day,
It is only the 4th of January
and our exploration of the east end of Tiree was an adventure.

Others may have trod there long before us,
however for us it was unexplored territory.

For a bank holiday the weather was amazing.
Although there was a cold breeze from the east,
it was a sunny day – ideal for walking.

This afternoon’s walk was from Milton to Port Ban and return.
There was no clear path and with recent rain at places the ground was boggy.

Tiree is renown for its beaches
but the coastline here is quite different, rocky
with several short interesting inlets,
finishing with a beach at Port Ban.
The views across the Passage of Tiree
to the Treshnish Isles and Mull were crip and clear.
The return to Milton was so rewarding.
Facing west, the sun was getting lower and lower in the sky.
Thanks to this afternoon’s guides.
Ah! This is Life on Tiree.
