Pier View

Pier View is a bit of a misnomer. This cluster of houses is less than 400 metres from the pier, but very few of them have a view of it. Strangely, at least one house in Heylipol, which is about 4.5 miles away can see when the ferry is at the pier. However, living at Pier View means you don’t have to walk far to get the view from the pier. On an evening like this the view is stunning.

It has been another day of blue skies. The sun shone for most of the day with only the briefest of April showers. With the wind coming from the north the morning was bitterly cold, however by the afternoon there was some warmth to the air. With the wind having dropped it proved to be an evening to take a walk down the pier.

Looking west over Gott Bay towards the Manse and Glebe House

With a haze shrouding the Isle of Mull to the east, the best view was west across Gott Bay. This morning’s walk to watch the ferry call the pier was distinctly cold. This evening’s walk was so different and the camera was certainly a necessity.

With our big wide skies you don’t have to travel far to enjoy the sunset.

That's it for another glorious day.

This is ‘Life on Tiree’ at the end of another sunny day.
