It had been a busy day and we needed to clear our heads.
A brief walk to the pier at Scarinish was called for.
It was just after 10:00pm.

There was no dramatic sunset.
It had been a rather dull, damp day.
After all it was the Tiree Association’s Sports Day.

The sun had already set but there was colour to the sky.
This colour was reflected in the waters of Gott Bay.
The clouds themselves added to the effect.

The bay has proved popular this year with yachts.
There were two anchored just off the pier.
There was hardly a breath of wind.
And the water was calm.

Sunday morning’s sky was a delight.
It was a foretaste of what was to come.
Morning and afternoon have been warm and sunny.
What a privilege to live in such an inspiring place.
It being Sunday we met with the church family.
An opportunity to express our thanks.
“He paints the skies”.
