This evening’s walk to the CalMac pier
afforded only a tantalising glimpse of the sun setting,
but it was nevertheless a calm, dry and rewarding evening’s walk.

Look East.
There over Ruaig the sky hinted at the time of day.

At first the clouds parted behind Glebe House.
Further down the pier the parting was behind Tullymet
Most appropriately it is known as the ‘Pink House’
Ideal for giving directions.

Further down the quiet pier the view is towards Gott.
The air is still, only disturbed gulls break the silence.
In the foreground is the launch Achnaba.
The fishing boat Atlantis is close by.

Returning back along the pier the colour quickly retreats.
Yet there are two interesting breaks in the clouds.
Tonight has been a reminder that we are almost into the month of August.
As we come towards the end of July daylight hours are drawing in.
This is ‘Life on Tiree’.
