During the summer 2016 timetable
the Wednesday sailing from Oban to Coll and Tiree
continues onward to Barra and then returns to Tiree.
This enables visitors to spend six hours exploring Tiree
and permits traffic to sail directly between Tiree and Barra.
With this evening’s return sailing alongside Tiree’s pier
the fishing boat ‘Atlantis’ arrives home in the waters of Gott Bay.
As the fishing boat fished for its mooring buoy
passengers on board the MV Clansman were being advised
that this evening’s sailing would take approximately 20 minutes longer
as the vessel would make an additional call at Craignure on the Isle of Mull
due to the CalMac vessel ‘Isle of Mull’ being deployed on the sailing to Colonsay.
CalMac’s vessel ‘Hebridean Isles’ recently suffered damage to its bow visor.
It has had to be withdrawn from service and taken into dock at Greenock.
This has left the MV Finlaggan taking the strain.
Unfortunately she has her own problems with her mezzanine deck.
Still this is not a worry for the returning crew of the Atlantis!
This is ‘Life on Tiree’.
