Do you know the feeling?
You turn the key in the ignition.
Perhaps there might be a slight cough.
But your car steadfastly refuses to start.
After a pause you make a further attempt.
When you try the ignition and nothing happens it is concerning.
It produces a sinking feeling in the pit of the stomach.
It was like that on the MV Clansman.
The engines were running sweet.
It was the stern ramp!
Try! Try! And try again!
No matter what Mr White tried the ramp would not raise.
An on board engineer arrived and at last the stern ramp was secured.
The engineer continues to investigate the panel.
Thankfully the vessel is able to progress to sea.
The sinking feeling passes over.
Never a dull moment down by the pier.
This is ‘Life on Tiree’.
