What an evocative scene.
They were only about a hundred yards from shore.
When they got there,
they found breakfast waiting for them—
fish cooking over a charcoal fire,
and some bread.

Sunday’s wee blow lasted into the early hours of Monday.
The day dawned bright, sunny and warm.
What a contrast from the day before.

Apart from a shower period around lunch-time
the day was characterised by bright blue skies.
What a grand day it proved to be!

With a high tide the pier’s resident seal made an appearance.
It was just as if he was appreciating the sunset.
He would dive and reappear.
“Which is my best side?”
Oh! He likes being photographed!
Then as the sun slid behind the clouds the moon appeared.

The sun had disappeared and the sky transformed.
The gloaming may be shorter but still a sight to behold.

Why an evocative scene.
There was that fire on the beach.
Only this evening it was supper – not breakfast.
The fire smelt so good – but there appeared to be no fish.
For some fishermen the breakfast fire was an encounter with the risen Jesus.
