Having been on the Mainland for two weeks,
this morning was a reminder of how close sunrise is
when viewed from our home in Scarinish, Isle of Tiree.

Our home nestles just below the Scarinish headland.
The headland is low lying – just enough to create the effect.
What a joy it was this morning to draw back the curtains.
It was just after first light and the dawn was awakening.
As we watched slowly the sun rose over the headland.

It is always pleasing when we can see the Paps of Jura.
Even after three years in our home it is still a joy to see Jura.
To think that they are over fifty miles away across the Passage of Tiree.
Overhead at over 30,000 feet jets crossed the sky.
As they did so they left behind their tell tale vapour trails.
Just moments after, the warming sun rose above the headland.

This is the delight of ‘Life on Tiree’.
Oh! It is good to be home again.
