On Tiree sunrise was at 9:02 this morning.
By way of contrast, sunrise in Colchester (Essex) was at 8:04.
Aylesbury (Bucks), where our son was heading home to was at 8:09

but masked by the cloud cover

The Mighty Clansman once again did not disappoint.
Those seeking to celebrate Hogmanay on Tiree made it.
Some stepping off the ferry looked as if it had been a rough crossing.
Those seeking to travel to the Mainland got safely away.
Some were returning after spending Christmas on Tiree.
Others were heading off to celebrate Hogmanay.
