It’s Easter Monday and the sun is shining brightly.
In the foreground is the MV Clansman.
The backdrop is the Isle of Mull.

The stretch of water is known as the Passage of Tiree.
The Passage of Tiree lies between Tiree and the Isle of Mull.
To berth at Tiree’s pier the ferry must turn to starboard and enter Gott Bay

Looking out from the Scarinish Headland there are no white horses.
Mull and the Treshnish Isles provide the perfect backdrop.
The blue waters of Gott Bay are perfectly calm.

For the past two weeks the island has felt busy.
Many passengers arrived over the Easter Weekend.
Today it appears many are making their way home to the Mainland.

Foot passengers are assembling on the pier.
First the ferry must complete the berthing process.
Then the arriving foot passengers must descend the gangway.
Only then can those embarking make their way steadily up the gangway.

No hats! No gloves! No scarfs! And it is only April
What a great day for the sail back to Oban via Coll.
No wonder passengers are out on the Clansman’s open deck.

What a colourful canvas we have today.
What views the passengers will have of the Treshnish Isles.
Perhaps they will enjoy lunch as the depart Coll and head for the Sound of Mull.

Tomorrow the ferry will arrive late afternoon.
The backdrop will be the same but the colours different.
This is the Hebridean landscape and seascape bathed in sunshine.
