Tiree’s Tardis is open for Christmas Gifts.
Known as Chocolates and Charms it is a treasure.
And the owner Becky Wright has been busy stocking up.
At this time of the year visitors are few and far between.
Most, but not all, of the cafes and gift shops are closed.
So there are few places on the island to go Christmas shopping.
Chocolates and Charms launched their Christmas Spectacular
with mulled wine, chocolate fountain and late night shopping.
On that very day we received an invitation to a party!
The over 60s Christmas party at An Talla.
Tomorrow sees the Tiree Parties Committee Christmas Craft Fayre.
(Saturday 25th November, 12 – 3pm at An Talla)
Another opportunity to shop for Christmas.
And they promise that Santa will visit.
He has a very special grotto.
“He is on his way!”
It is a busy time of year for Santa.
He is making another appearance on the island.
He plans to be at the Christmas Light Switch On.
Tiree has its own very special wind resistant Christmas tree.
Many have the date in their diary – Friday the 1st of December.
All kinds of celebrations take place at this special time of the year.
At Christmas Christians celebrate God becoming one of us.
For in the birth of Jesus God came and lived among us.
God really knows our joys and sorrows.
He knows what it is to be homeless.
He knows what is to be a refugee.
And he cares.
This is ‘Life-on-Tiree’ preparing to celebrate the birth.
