In a week of mixed weather she appeared out of the mist.
On board Tuesday’s ferry was a very special articulated lorry.
The ‘Screen Machine’ arrived on board the MV ’Lord of the Isles’.

The Lorry is an 80-seat air conditioned, digital mobile cinema
which brings the latest films to the rural areas
of the Highlands and Islands of Scotland.

The ‘Screen Machine regularly tours to more than 40 communities,
and spends between one and four days in each place.
Each tour takes approximately 10-12 weeks.
The venture is funded by Creative Scotland
and Highlands and Islands Enterprise,
and is supported by Caledonian MacBrayne.

The Isle of Tiree has been our home for over five years now.
We have seen the lorry come and go on several occasions.
However, this was our first visit to the ‘Screen Machine’.

Mary Poppins Return came highly recommended.
We had been advised to see it if we could.
So Tuesday evening saw us at the cinema.
And yes! We enjoyed it.

This is ‘Life on Tiree’.
There’s a first time for everything.
Even if happens to be Mary Poppins Returns!
